Private household learning records, with the adult account in control.

1. Who the Home product is for

A Home Studio is created and managed by an adult home educator. Learners use adult-created profiles inside that household workspace and do not create their own general account.

2. Information used to provide the service

• Adult account email and authentication data.
• Learner first name or display name, year level and learning preferences.
• Plans, goals, resources, responses, progress, journal entries and portfolio evidence.
• Riley messages, safety records and operational diagnostics where those features are used.
• Subscription status; card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored by SmartKidz.

3. Why it is used

Information is used to operate the Home Studio, present assigned learning, support Riley interactions, show progress and evidence to the adult, maintain security and process subscriptions. SmartKidz does not sell children’s data or serve advertisements to learners.

4. AI and voice providers

Riley text features use Anthropic Claude served through AWS Bedrock in Sydney. Optional speech features use Deepgram, including its Australian endpoint for speech-to-text where configured. Identifiable learner data is not used by SmartKidz to train general AI models.

5. Household scope and adult visibility

Home learner data is scoped to the owning household workspace. The adult account can review the learning record and manage learner access. Learner mode does not expose billing, household settings or other educator controls.

6. Retention, access and deletion

Retention depends on the record type and published operational policy. Adults may request access, correction or deletion by contacting [email protected]. Some records may be retained where law, payment reconciliation, security or unresolved safeguarding obligations require it.
